Ivy Knights is a British jazz vocalist and songwriter whose music is shaped by a life lived across languages, cultures and continents. Singing in English, Italian, French and Portuguese, she weaves together the elegance of French chanson, the romance of Italian dolce vita, the rhythmic vitality of Brazilian samba and the freedom of jazz improvisation.

Her debut EP, ‘Live at the Lighthouse’, captures that world in its most intimate form. Recorded live with her jazz quartet aboard a floating lightship in East London, the project moves between original songwriting and reimagined repertoire, capturing the spontaneity, intimacy and interplay at the heart of Ivy’s live sound.

A graduate of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, Ivy has performed alongside acclaimed artists including Gregory Porter and Joe Stilgoe, appearing on stages including the Royal Albert Hall and Barbican, as well as sold-out concert halls across Italy and Spain.

Originally a classical violinist, performing concertos from the age of eight, Ivy later studied French and Italian before living and working across Europe, West Africa and the United States. A decade immersed in gospel, singing with the London Community Gospel Choir, Pasadena Gospel Choir and The Spirituals, and later co-founding Agapē Gospel Collective, brought another dimension to her musical language, grounding her jazz influences in the soul, rhythm and emotional depth of gospel and R&B.

Backed by some of the UK’s finest jazz musicians, including regular performers at Ronnie Scott’s, Ivy creates music rich in atmosphere, storytelling and a sense of place which is sophisticated, cinematic and unmistakably her own.
